Inspired by the Manchester Acoustic Guitar Society the OGG was formed to meet the needs of amateur guitar players on the north side of Manchester. Our format is identical to the MAG meetings and we always have an open mike for players who want to present songs or music. The group is inclusive not exclusive and we welcome players of all styles and abilities.

There is no regular committee but you can contact the current organiser, Brett Silcock (see contacts page) and the previous organiser, David Lynch for any information about the group. This web site will provide lots of information about the group's activities plus links and resources to other groups, events, concerts, tutorials and lectures.

Meetings at the Oldham Acoustic Guitar group are open to all and we plan to share events and resources with other local music groups. Information about Shaw Playhouse 2 music events and other local resources are found on the links page.
